Colleagues in conversation in a bright meeting room

About Networkingsystems

We advise researchers on employment decisions inside Germany’s university and institute landscape—where contracts, appointment procedures, and publication records shape what comes next.

Why this work exists

Academic hiring in Germany follows rules that rarely appear in international career blogs: WissZeitVG limits, Besoldung grades, Berufungsverfahren rituals, and institute-specific expectations for teaching statements. Researchers often learn these rules mid-application, under time pressure.

Networkingsystems grew from that gap. Our consultants combine experience in university human resources, research administration, and one-to-one career counselling for doctoral and postdoctoral scholars.

How we work with clients

  • Start from your contract calendar and geographic constraints
  • Prefer concrete application targets over vague “visibility” advice
  • Write feedback that committees in Germany would recognise
  • Stay clear of placement guarantees and inflated success rates

People and place

We are based in Baden-Württemberg and work primarily online with scholars across Germany, with optional in-person sessions arranged when travel makes sense.

Our stance

We treat career transitions as employment problems with research culture attached—not as personal branding exercises. Clients bring unfinished papers, caregiving schedules, and visa timelines; we plan around those facts.

When a move out of academia is the honest answer, we say so early and help structure an exit that protects references and residual project duties.
